Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson hosted her annual Dominican Heritage Month celebration on Wednesday, March 18, at the Grand Slam Banquet Hall, located at 478 East Tremont Avenue in the Tremont section of the borough.
“As we celebrate Dominican Heritage Month, we honor a community whose culture, resilience, and contributions are deeply woven into the fabric of our borough,” said Gibson. “The Bronx is home to the largest Dominican population in the country, and this celebration reflects the pride, excellence, and lasting impact of Dominican leaders, families, and young people who continue to shape the future of our borough.”

In 2022, as reported, State Sen. Luis Sepúlveda (S.D. 32), announced an official visit by the New York State Senate delegation to the Senate of the Dominican Republic.
The strong ties between D.R. and New York City were also evident, as reported, when The Bronx stood in solidarity with the island and mourned the victims of the Jet Set nite-club roof collapse in Santa Domingo last year.
