The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying the person seen in the attached photo who they say is wanted in connection with an attempted robbery that occurred in the University Heights section of The Bronx.
Police said that on Tuesday, Feb. 3, at around 1.07 a.m. the suspect entered 37 Deli Grocery, located at 37 West 183rd Street. They said once inside, the suspect attempted to leave the store with merchandise and without paying. “A 51-year-old male employee attempted to stop him, at which point the individual punched the employee in the face and displayed a knife,” a police spokesperson said.
“The individual fled the location in an unknown direction,” the spokesperson added. “The victim refused medical attention on scene.” Police said the suspect is described as male, has a dark complexion, is estimated to be between 25 and 35 years of age, has medium build, medium-length black locks, brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a tan jacket, black pants, and black shoes.
