Police have launched a murder investigation after a 25-year-old man was found dead inside an apartment in the Crotona section of The Bronx, just south of Belmont on Sunday evening, Nov. 9.

An NYPD spokesperson said that on Sunday at around 5.45 p.m., officers from the 48th Precinct responded to a 911 call regarding a male who had been shot inside 2111 Southern Boulevard, a high-rise residential building called Twin Park South East (but not Twin Parks building where the fatal fire took place in January 2022, which is located in Fordham Heights).

“Upon arrival, a 25-year-old male was discovered unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head,” a police spokesperson said. “EMS responded and pronounced the male deceased on scene. There are no arrests at this time and the investigation is active and ongoing.”

We asked if the NYPD could confirm on which floor the shooting took place and the spokesperson said he did not have that information at the time. The NYPD crime scene unit were seen on site existing the building at one point as they collected evidence.

All said they did not.
