There were no reported injuries following a residential fire in the early hours of Saturday, Sept. 20, in the Allerton section of The Bronx, FDNY officials said.
An FDNY spokesperson said the department received a call at 00.02 a.m. for a report of a fire at 682 Allerton Avenue, a six-story, mixed-use building located between Olinville Avenue and White Plains Road.
They said 12 units comprising 60 fire and EMS personnel responded to the scene, and the fire was brought under control at 00.38 a.m. Fire marshals are investigating the cause.
A representative from the Red Cross of Greater New York said that after the fire, its Disaster Action Team spoke with impacted residents who said they would self relocate.
The representative added, “Any residents affected by this fire who are in need of assistance can call 877-RED CROSS (option 1) to speak with a responder.”
