Police said an additional person has been charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of a woman in the Fordham Heights section of The Bronx last month.
As reported, police had previously said that a 54-year-old woman had been charged with murder after another woman died on July 22. As reported, an NYPD spokesperson said that on that date at around 2.51 p.m., officers from the 46th Precinct responded to a 911 call regarding an assault in progress inside 2295 Grand Concourse.
“Upon arrival, officers observed an unidentified female unconscious and unresponsive with multiple stab wounds to the body,” the spokesperson said. “EMS responded and transported the aided female to BronxCare Health System, where she was pronounced deceased.”
Police had said a person of interest was taken into custody and the investigation remains ongoing. We had asked police if the homicide stemmed from a domestic violence incident and if the person arrested lived in the same apartment as the victim. We were later informed that the incident did not appear to stem from a domestic violence incident.
