Fordham Heights: Man Sought for Robbery of 49-Year-Old Woman inside 182nd-183rd St. Subway Station

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying the person seen in the attached video and photos who they say is wanted in connection with a robbery and assault that occurred inside a Fordham Heights subway station.

 

Police said that on Monday, June 9, at around 4.45 p.m. inside East 182nd-183rd subway station serving the B/D trains, a 49-year-old woman was walking in the mezzanine when an unidentified male approached her and requested to use her cell phone.

They said a dispute ensued, and the person then kicked the victim about the body and stole an unknown amount of cash and the victim’s cell phone from her pocket. They said he then fled on foot to unknown parts. “There were no injuries reported as a result of this incident,” a police spokesperson said.

 

Police said the suspect is described as a male with a light complexion who was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, blue jeans, and white sneakers.
