Morris Heights: Two Sought for Unprovoked Assault on 57-Year-Old Man

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying the two people seen in the attached photos and video who they say are wanted in connection with an assault that occurred in Morris Heights.

 

THE NYPD IS asking for the public’s help identifying this person who they say is wanted in connection with an assault that occurred at 1745 University Avenue in Morris Heights on Sunday, May 25, 2025.

Police said that on Sunday, May 25, at around 10.22 p.m., a 57-year-old male victim was exiting a business located at 1745 University Avenue when an unidentified individual approached the victim from behind.

They said the assailant struck the victim multiple times with a baseball bat about the body, causing him to fall. They said a second individual then punched the victim multiple times about the body with a closed fist.

They said the assailants then fled the location on foot to parts unknown. “The victim was transported by EMS to BronxCare Health System in stable condition,” a police spokesperson said.

Police said the first suspect is described as male, has a light complexion, and was last seen wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, and white sneakers.

They said the second sought individual is also described as male, has a light complexion, and was last seen wearing a gray, hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, and light-colored shoes.
