Police said a 57-year-old man has died in the Fordham Heights section of the Bronx following a fatal shooting, and a woman was also shot but survived.
Police said that on Sunday, May 18, at around 6.49 p.m. officers from the 46th Precinct responded to a 911 call regarding two people who had been shot in the vicinity of East 188th Street and Marion Avenue.
“Upon arrival, officers observed a 57-year-old male who sustained a gunshot wound to the head, and a 34-year-old female who sustained a gunshot wound to the left leg,” police said. “Both victims were transported by EMS to St. Barnabas Hospital where the male was subsequently pronounced deceased and the female is listed in stable condition.” They said there are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.

They said the deceased has been identified as Kevin Jennings of College Avenue in the vicinity of the Claremont Village section of The Bronx.
The shooting took place on the final day of Bronx Week 2025, just hours after a parade and concert celebrating the best of the borough had just wrapped up on Mosholu Parkway in Bedford Park.
A person was seen being escorted by police into a police vehicle close to the crime scene in a video posted to the Citizens’ App. Norwood News has reached out to the NYPD for more information about this and will share any updates we receive.
