Free WiFi for Students
The New York Public Library offers free WiFi for eligible students in kindergarten through 12th grade who don’t have WiFi at home. A lending event, where hotspot devices can be checked out for free, takes place Oct. 3 at 6 p.m. at The Bronx Library Center, 310 E. Kingsbridge Rd. Free Breast Exams, Pap Smears & Mammograms
Free breast exams and Pap smears for women 18 and older, and mammograms for women 40 and older, who are uninsured and underinsured, will be available on Oct. 7 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Montefiore Einstein Campus (the tower at Montefiore Medical Park), 1695 Eastchester Rd. Individuals with prescription health insurance coverage, including Medicaid and Medicare, can receive up to $40 in co-payment coverage for naloxone. This medicine is used to reverse opioid overdoses. Uninsured New Yorkers and those with no prescription coverage can get naloxone for free through New York’s network of registered opioid overdose prevent programs.
